Matt Throgmorton was born in Marion, IL on November 4, 1975. His
introduction to music came early through his influence of his home
church in Marion, IL. He became a born-again Christian at the age
of six and has been singing the message of Jesus Christ ever since.
The very first song that he ever performed at church was "I'll Walk
With God", his Paw Paw's favorite. He continued to sing throughout
school participating in choir, show choir, jazz choir and solos at his
own church as well as other churches.
After attending the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, KY in
1996, he was introduced to a group out of Florida named the "Florida
Melody Boys". After much prayer, Matt spent his entire 21st birthday
driving a U-haul packed with everything he owned to Florida. God has
blessed him to have been able to sing alone side some of the most gifted
people in gospel music such as Gold City, the Kingsmen, Greater
Vision, Booth Brothers, Crabb Family, Florida Boys, Allison Durham-
Spear and many others.
Matt met his wife, Cindy, not long after arriving in Florida. They were
soon married and today live in Marion with their two daughters.
Matt felt God's calling to not only sing with his solo ministry but to
start a male trio based out of the southern Illinois area. The trio
is called "One Voice" and the founding members are Bryan Cowling,
Darrell Marshall and Matt himself. In October of 2006, Darrell Marshall
left the group to pursue his solo ministry full time. Replacing Darrell was a
gentleman out of Crab Orchard, IL named Deon Baker. They have a great,
tight, three-part harmony that you just don't find everyday.
